Never had there been so much pain. The fire seemed to flow like liquid all around and within, seeping into every crevice. An eternity passed wherein nothing but the pain existed. Finally the fire stopped and the Spirit crumpled to the ground, body still smoldering.
"Enjoy your life...." came whispered words, which faded into laughter. A thin crimson thread landed on the smoldering grass before consciousness was once again lost.
